Singer Ingaja creates ambient, spatial and dreamy music with a distinctive tone colour of her voice, guitar and electronic music. She draws inspiration from her immediate environment, her inner depths, nature and artists such as Ben Howard, Fink and Tash Sultana. Ingaja writes her songs in English, but weaves her own uniqueness into them, which makes her work set apart from other musicians with a similar style. She performs in various music festivals in Lithuania, Denmark and the UK and has her own audience. BBC Radio introduced her song “Eyes Are Loud” in September last year, proving the interest from English-speaking countries. In the concert “Awakening” the singer will present her songs with a quartet of cellists formed from the cello group of the Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra for the Klaipėda Cello Festival 2017. All members of the quartet are highly professional musicians: Mindaugas Bačkus who is recognised as one of the best cellists in Lithuania; Kornelija Kupšytė, Bačkus’ student who has ranked high in many national and international competitions and has recently been awarded the Švyturys Klaipėda Future Scholarship; and musicians Karolis Vaičiulis and Jurgis Karbauskas who are actively involved in various cultural and musical projects.
The programme includes Ingaja's original songs and instrumental quartet interludes
