In the spirit of renewed hope, a gala concert by the AR’s Musica ensemble will open the 41st Resurrexit Festival on Easter Monday.
AR’s Musica was formed in 2018 on the initiative of flautist Andrius Radziukynas with the aim of bringing harmony, light and joy of life to listeners and uplifting them through the art of music. The chamber ensemble of professional musicians also opened the 38th Festival with a concert five years ago, but the collective changes its line-up, so the programme sounds different each time. This time, listeners will hear a duo of long-time stage partners: Andrius Radziukynas, the ensemble’s artistic director, and clarinetist Roger Arve Vigulf, whose friendship began more than a decade ago when the two met and performed together at the Land of the Disobedient Festival. Together they have also recorded a CD with the flute and the clarinet – a rather unusual combination of instruments. In the opening concert of the Resurrexit Festival, soloists and a string quartet will perform compositions from various periods: from classical to contemporary, revealing the beauty of music, the sophisticated structure and musical technique.
Compositions by T. Aagaard-Nilsen, E. F. Bræin, M. K. Čiurlionis, W. A. Mozart, P. Vasks, R. A. Vigulf, etc.
