In the center of Šiauliai town in 2011 a monument to Balius Buračas, an enlightener from the village of Sidariai, Radviliškis district, was unveiled. The author of the monument is Stasys Žirgulis from the country.
Balys Buračas - pedagogue, famous photographer, ethnographer, ethnographer. Traveling around Lithuania, he has accumulated a huge archive of photographs - more than 18 thousand. negatives and twice as many positives. He had collected about 4,200 songs. 7,600 examples of customs and small folklore, descriptions of dances and games. 6,400 eggs, 800 Lithuanian national strips. Published about 600 articles. The Šiaulėnai Regional Museum has a space dedicated to the brothers Bali and Jonas Buračas, in memory of their activities.
