Pakruojis old Fire Station is located in the central part of the town. Pakruojis burned many times, so in 1928, with the contribution of the Jewish community, a fire shelter was built. A wooden turret was used to dry firefighters' ‘sleeves’, the inventory was kept in other parts of the building. Before World War II, a hand-held siren was installed. The hall was illuminated with carbide lamps, later by electricity supplied by Pakruojis Manor, from 1934 by the Maizelis Mill.
Most firefighters were volunteers and one paid firefighter-guard.
The attic was also used as a meeting room for parties, parties, entertainment, concerts, plays and movies and served as a buffet.
