When you turn towards the garden of Venclauskiai House-Museum, next to the house you will see the sculpture “Motherhood” crated by sculptor Antanas Šnaras. The monument was unveiled in the arcade of Venclauskiai House on 2 May 1993. The sculpture honours the memory of actress, director, public, political and cultural figure Stanislava Jakševičiūtė-Venclauskienė. She and her husband raised and took care of about 100 orphans. During World War II, she helped Jews imprisoned in Šiauliai ghetto. She was awarded the title of Righteous Among the Nations and a medal.
