Palendriai St Benedict’s Monastery is located in the village of Palendriai, Kelmė district. The place for the construction of the new monastery was searched in the whole of Lithuania but amazing monumental nature (prominent hills leading to Samogitian upland, high sky, Vainagiai forests stretching up to Kurtuvėnai) and priest K.Ambrozaitis’ old church-oratorio determined the selection of the place for the monastery. Benedictines of Palendriai moved to the new monastery in the autumn of 2001. All who wish can go to the church of the monastery and pray together with monks. The monastery accepts Mass bookings for desired intentions. At the reception, one can buy postcards with views of the monastery, missals and prayer books, a CD with recordings of plainsong, a rosary. Visitors have a possibility to go to confession or speak about spiritual concerns with an experienced monk, who knows how to listen and how to help to understand that the Lord calls every individual to live Christian believer’s life.
