It is a space of ethnoculture, traditional customs and entertainments, surrounded by the modern city. The visitor will see the restored miller’s house and the only surviving structure of Lithuanian traditional wooden architecture of the second half of the 19 century in Šiauliai – Žaliūkiai windmill. All-year-round the daily life of the miller’s family – grain grinding, bread baking – is going on; the routine is varied by Lithuanian traditional calendar celebrations. The homestead operates free car and bus parking. The miller’s house is a place of one of the most popular educational activities of the museum “Bread Baking”.

Excursion with a miller and bread tasting (English, Russian)
In Žaliūkiai village miller’s farmstead you can taste rye bread baked right here, learn about centuries-old bread baking traditions, customs and rituals as well as get acquainted with the household in the early 20th century. The history of Žaliūkiai miller’s farmstead is also interesting, so together with a miller it is worth visiting the windmill that has been standing here since 1875 and learn how the flour, from which delicious and fragrant rye bread is baked, is made.

Group fee – 30 Eur (no discounts). II – V after 5 pm, VI after 4 pm. the price will be 40 Eur. Also need to buy a museum's ticket ( 4 Eur; with disscount – 2 Eur).
